Mountain Doctor Fan DaysAt the Mountain Doctor Mountain Festival on 12. September 2024, all visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions to the stars around Hans Sigl and experience the actors up close. Overnight guests, day visitors, locals, and last-minute decision-makers are warmly invited to spend an unforgettable time with the series stars. Participation in the event is free and does not require registration. Normal rates and conditions apply for the cable car ride to the event venue.
On the Mountain Doctor Fan Day on 15. May 2024, at Wilder Kaiser, everything revolves around the popular TV series The Mountain Doctor! At the fan day with Hans Sigl and his TV colleagues, you have the opportunity to get to know your idols from the TV series up close. An exciting and varied program awaits you!
GruberhofDiscover Gruberhof, idyllically located on the sunny side of the Bromberg in Söll, at over 1,000 meters altitude. This picturesque mountain farm serves as the home of the Mountain Doctor, his family, and his daughter Lilli in the popular TV series. Outside of filming times, the farm is known as Köpfing and is lovingly managed by the Mayr family.
The historic farmhouse with its panoramic breakfast terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Kaiser Mountains and the Hohe Salve, making it an unmistakable landmark of the series.
Mountain Doctor's OfficeThe Mountain Doctor's office in Ellmau, a popular filming location for the series "The Mountain Doctor," is located on the historic Hinterschnabel farm, first mentioned in 1694. Johann Leitner, former mayor of Ellmau, took over the farm in 1985 and continues to run it to this day. The living quarters, which remained unused before the arrival of the Mountain Doctor film team in 2007 due to the lack of electricity, were lovingly converted into a practice for the series.
The surrounding fields of the farm are still agriculturally used by Hans Leitner. This new landmark of Ellmau delights about 8 million TV viewers annually and inspires vacations in the Tyrolean mountains.
Going Village SquareThe village square in Going am Wilder Kaiser is the central meeting point of the place, surrounded by the imposing church and the inn Wilder Kaiser. The latter, actually a quiet farmhouse under the management of Johann Gschwendtner, transforms into a lively film inn during the filming of "The Mountain Doctor."
Another highlight of the village square is the village fountain from the 1960s with a copper statue of Saint Florian, the patron saint of fire brigades.
Ludwig Gruber's AlmThe Litzlalm, located in the Austrian Pinzgau between 1,300 and 1,500 meters, covers a grazing area of about 2 km². During the summer months, it is home to up to 90 head of cattle. In the heart of the alm, a snack station, a typical Austrian mountain inn for snacks and refreshments, invites you to linger.
Known for its beautiful location and breathtaking views, particularly of the Mühlsturzhörner of the Reiter Alm, the Litzlalm was the setting for numerous homeland films and series, including parts of the eleventh season of "The Mountain Doctor," where one of the alpine huts served as Uncle Ludwig's hut.
Tractor RideTake a ride on the specially designed tractor trailer from the Mountain Doctor parking lot (Address: Stampfanger 1, 6306 Söll | at the Söll roundabout – exit Hexenwasser) up to the famous Gruberhof from the popular TV series The Mountain Doctor. Tractor rides can be booked several times daily from Tuesday to Saturday.
