Cross-Country Skiing along the Wilder Kaiser
The idyllic hilly landscape at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser offers ideal conditions for cross-country skiing enthusiasts in the Kitzbühel Alps/Tyrol. The sun-drenched plains around the towns of Söll, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going invite both beginners and advanced skiers to enjoy their excellently groomed trails. The trails are suitable for both classic cross-country skiers and skaters. In Scheffau, you can even go cross-country skiing on the illuminated village trail in the evenings.
If you want to try cross-country skiing during your stay at Hotel Alpenpanorama, everything you need is available – from cross-country equipment rental to cross-country skiing courses.
Panorama TrailThe Panorama Trail is designed for warming up and offers flat beginner terrain over its approximately 1000 meters, with views of the Wilder Kaiser, Pölven Massif, and Hohe Salve giving it its name.
Söll-ScheffauThe connecting trail Scheffau-Söll offers plenty of peace and space and is particularly interesting as a connection between the towns.
The connecting trail is equipped with a classic track and allows beginners to get used to the equipment and advanced skiers to run briskly. The skating track is also used as a winter hiking trail. The small ascents into the Scheffau and Söll villages challenge you at the end and should be considered when choosing your pace.
Sunnseit TrailThe Sunnseit Trail is both a skating and classic trail. The tour can be run as a small or large loop. Start in the Wies district. To get there, follow the green winter hiking trail signs. At the Lederer farm, you can decide whether to continue the small loop in the Pirchmoos district or head towards Gasthaus Badhaus and return to the village via the Reit district - this extension is of medium difficulty.
Schattseit TrailThe starting point is the parking lot at Ahornsee, a combined reservoir for snowmaking in winter and a swimming lake in summer, unique in its form! From here, it goes along the snowy lake towards the forest edge. Run this medium-difficulty trail along the forest edge to the Hauning district. Enjoy the quiet winter landscape and the magnificent view of the snow-covered Wilder Kaiser. Return along the same route, passing through the Gänsleit district, and return comfortably to the starting point at Ahornsee.
Scheffau-Söll TrailAt the southernmost point of the Scheffau Sun Trail, the trail connection to Söll begins. The connection is groomed as a classic trail, with a parallel skating track that also serves as a winter hiking trail.
The trail runs through the Seebach district, gently descending to the Söll district of Stockach. From here, it climbs moderately over Unterhauning and Gänsleit to the end point near the center of Söll.
Ellmauer Kaiser TrailThis includes the Ellmauer Kaiser Trail, which runs parallel to a picturesque winter hiking trail with a spectacular view of the Kaiser Massif. Winter sports enthusiasts will also find an ideal entry point to the cross-country safari in Going at the Blattl Trail, the Sunnseit Trail in Söll, or the Sun Trail in Scheffau.
Scheffau Night TrailScheffau offers a special cross-country skiing attraction: the 1.2 km long Scheffau Night Trail is snow-covered and illuminated until 9:30 PM. It is also an ideal connection towards Söll or Ellmau. Thus, besides alpine skiing, you can enjoy cross-country skiing in the valley in the evening as well!
